Subdomain Configuration
We're having major issues getting a store indexed by yahoo (the primary URL), and we believe the domain configuration is the culprit.
Yahoo's store help offers the following vague descriptions of their domain forwarding options.
Can anyone elaborate on which option works like a permanent 301?
I'm inclined to believe it's the Standard forwarding option, but the destination address is a yahoo store (yahoo hosted), so is the 3rd option a valid choice?
Yahoo domain forwarding options:
- Standard forwarding: The domain name redirects to a web address that you specify (usually hosted by another provider), and visitors will see the destination web address in the address bar of their web browsers.
- Masked forwarding: The domain name redirects to a web address that you specify (usually hosted by another provider), and visitors will see the original domain name in the address bar of their web browsers.
- Forwarding to a Yahoo! Hosted site: The domain name redirects visitors to a yahoo!-hosted web site you specify; visitors see the original domain name in the address bar of their web browsers. Choosing this option allows you to create subdomains with a Domains or Business Email plan. Learn more about subdomains.
