Store settings contain information regarding store settings like store name, store domain, store description, etc. You can manage multiple store configurations from here.
Application configuration contains basic configuration, which needs to be configured for live store. We have to define each configuration from here just like Inventory Management (active or not), Attributes Management (yes or no), Admin Email, Site URL, etc.
