This accounting system is used primarily by North American and Australian companies, mainly small and medium-sized.
Developed by Great Plains Software
Dynamics GP was originally developed by Great Plains Software. The first version was released in February 1993 as the first accounting systems in the United States which was designed and written to be multi-user and to run under Windows as 32 bit software. The solution was in late 2000 acquired by Microsoft and integrated into their ERP portfolio.
The financial management system helps small and medium-sized organizations that handle most of the functional areas such as budget management, reporting, advanced consolidation, etc. These functionalities are available out-of-the box, which rapidly enables you to integrate and automate your financial and operational processes faster. The solution that is scalable, is ideal for companies with plans to grow.
Dynamics GP is now the second most popular of Microsoft DynamicsERP solutions in relation to the number of users. GP has never had any major market share in Europe, this is mainly due to the solution's weak multi-currency functionality and the strength of the competition from, for exampleDynamics NAV / Navision .
Developed by Great Plains Software
Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains Software) and Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) have a lot in common, but there are differences between the two ERP solutions.
