Bill of Materials
Take care of the assembly of your finished goods using our Bill of Materials app
A Bill of Materials (BOM) is a list of components, parts, sub-assemblies and the quantities of each required to assemble a finished product. This app allows you to generate BOMs effortlessly and to handle the assembly and disassembly of your finished products. Bill of Materials connects directly with your Kaizen inventory and accounting, posting adjustments in real-time.
How it works
Create BOMs
Build your BOM records, first by building the finished products and their components within Kaizen. Then, you will be able to make your Bill of Materials record itself, determining which products, parts, and sub-assemblies are necessary to make the finished product.

Import BOMs
Add new BOMs or edit your current records by exporting, modifying and re-importing user-friendly CSV files.

View inventory availability
Find out which components are necessary to develop a finished product. View what’s in stock and where inventory gets located inside your warehouse(s).

Assemble a BOM
The assembly operation enables you to construct a finished product. Pick the warehouse and bin location from which to take the components and where to put the finished products. Once confirmed, inventory changes post automatically in Kaizen taking out the Components and adding in the assembled items.

Disassemble a BOM
This operation enables you to remove finished products from your inventory, splitting them back into their components.

Auto-assembly
Make a decision to assemble finished products automatically, either whenever they are needed to fulfill a sales order or depending on their minimum stock level. An auto-assembly report is emailed to your specific team/team member, giving them details like the SKU and sales order number.

Auto-price update
If enabled, the cost price of a finished product gets computed as the sum of component cost prices multiplied by their quantity. This update works automatically before completing an assembly operation. Therefore, the finished product’s inventory value will reflect the most recent component cost prices.

Assembly and disassembly reports
See activity reports featuring all assembly and disassembly operations. Find out which items got adjusted in and out as well as in which warehouse, in addition to details like the user and the date/time.
