The Challenge
A Secret Admirer came to us with a very challenging project, with website and processes on a legacy platform. With their legacy e-commerce platform unable to keep pace with business needs, and a website that was outdated and not mobile friendly they needed a custom solution which would help them scale rapidly. The needed a state-of-the-art, responsive site. A Secret Admirer wanted to both reproduce most of the functionality and data built on the legacy platform. Additionally, they wanted enhancement features including integrated marketplace management, centralized inventory management, advanced warehouse management, and gift driven features. They also wanted us to help them navigate the marketing field and create a market plan across all channels that would drive conversions across all areas of the website.
The Approach
Leveraging years in experience in e-commerce development and design, we worked with A Secret Admirer to not only re-platform but to also redesign from top to bottom. For this project, it was important to create a new design aesthetic while keeping our extant branding in mind. With A Secret Admirer, their first focus was on this project as it is in their business: their customer. We interviewed A Secret Admirer to get an instinctive feel for the brand and customer base to create a design and solution which would enhance the website. After understanding the challenges development time was expedient, with a redesign of all product pages, category pages, and product listing search results. At every step quality check were performed to ensure everything was functioning properly. Backend development such as inventory management, warehouse management, and marketplace management was then focused on to give A Secret Admirer a complete and comprehensive solution. In tangent with marketplace development, we created and executed a marketing plan to help increase sales and conversions to the site.
The highlight of How We Helped Increase Revenue
Integrated Inventory Multistore Management
A Secret Admirer needed a seamless process of making sure inventory amounts are the same in every store and every marketplace. We built a solution for A Secret Admirer which: automatically updates inventory in the connected stores when there is a new order, refund or cancellation, sets an automated “safety net” for products to ensure products do not oversell. Integrating with the warehouse, all items from the marketplace, to store, A Secret Admirer was able to get complete traceability and control of their inventory.
Warehouse Management and Bin Stock Info Number
A Secret Admirer required a solution with allowing for quick picking and packing of orders, as well as ensure the accuracy of stock to ensure the store's profitability. We create a custom Bin Stock info number system to ensure every piece of inventory was locatable within the warehouse. Our solution allowed not just to keep track of stock, so not only was the quantity of that stock known but also so the exactly where that stock was located was known.
Promotional & Sales Strategy
For A Secret Admirer, they wanted a hands-on approach to improving their businesses ROI. To achieve this goal, we have used a variety of marketing techniques to get results including: utilize including SEO, viral ads, paid marketing and social media. Custom Gifting Checkout, Giftwrap Option
At A Secret Admirer, the main focus is on the “customer experience” and creating the perfect gifting experience. For this reason, A Secret Admirer needed a method to offer custom gift wrapping options through their store. We gave them the ability to allow customers to add on gift wrapping as part of the experience, as well as the option to create a more magical experience by adding ribbons, and cards for an additional price.
Free Gift with Purchase Module
Wanting to give customers both a “Thank You” as well as incentive to buy more products, A Secret Admirer had us create a free gift with purchase module. As a customer buys more, the incentive gift increased in value, creating a gamification strategy in buying. The free gift selection is automatically created based on the amount in the cart, giving purchasers a higher incentive to buy.
THE RESULT
In terms of aesthetics, the new site has gained many compliments from loyal customers. A combination of increased web traffic and better looking and functioning design has led to more sale and increased revenue. By opening up products to marketplaces, sales have risen drastically, all while keeping order fulfillment easy to manage.
