Animation Shops began in 1994, with the goal of selling licensed merchandise for popular characters from the past and the present. Animation Shops focuses on selling a great assortment of unique items, which people couldn’t just find anywhere, appealing to both the young as well as the young at heart. One of the fastest growing companies in the novelty apparel industries, with a selection including t-shirts, loungewear, headwear, and statues. Animationshop's selection spans across many popular pop cultural icons, from superheroes’ including Spiderman and the Punisher, as well as characters such as Care Bears and Betty Boop.
The Challenge
With an outdated website which was not allowing for the accurate tracking of sales, AnimationShop needed a solution that would automate the e-commerce process. The requirements for a new website was one that could work with the backend, as well as marketplaces to easily show orders, as well as which products were working and which were slow moving products. Overall business reports including sales for the month, inventory, shipping, and order status was needed to better monitor the health of the business. Needing a more mobile friendly, modern and automated e-commerce website Animationshops wanted to build a website that would scale with their business growth.
The Approach
The main goal based on the difficulties AnimationShops was facing was to create an integrated solution which made it faster to track sales, order management, product management, and inventory management across multiple warehouses website and marketplaces including Amazon, eBay, and Walmart. After the main system was built and created to fuel systematic growth in the backend the e-commerce website was then taken and put into marketing efforts including conversion optimization, and SEO optimization.

Multi-Channel Integration with Amazon Marketplace Integration and eBay
Needing to have a big picture view of all marketplaces, we created a central dashboard that synced with all of AnimationShops stores and marketplaces, this gave AnimationShops the freedom to focus on getting orders out instead of having to manage all marketplaces and stores individually. Connecting to all orders, inventory, shipping, and warehouse modules which were custom built for AnimationShops insured complete transparency throughout the entire fulfillment process.
Centralized Inventory Management
Needing an integrated inventory management system, we created a solution for AnimationShops which ensured that all stock updates were done automatically both through the warehouse as well as through all marketplace – every time a new sale is gotten. With optimal safety and buffer stock automatically calculated, overselling was no longer a problem. Gaining complete visibility into inventory gave AnimationShops the business intelligence needed to make accurate and intelligent business decisions.
Integration with Stamps.com
Requiring a custom Stamps.com shipping integration with the systems that Animationshops already had in place, we built our solution to around this need. We enhanced functionality by adding an instant shipping calculator that helps you chart out preferred shippers with respect to shipping price and destination.
Advance Warehousing System with Batch Option Picking & Packaging
AnimationShop needed an advanced warehouse management system which could accommodate batch option picking and packing. We created a solution that allowed for the management of multiple warehouses by with flexible stock policies, stock transfer and full integration with accounting software. Our solution allowed for the implementation of efficient inventory control measures to boost accuracy and order processing efficiency within the warehouses. One of the core features of the warehouse management solution built was the ability to create picklists. Our solution allowed for the creation of picklist based on SKUs, Orders or Product Bundles, as well as give sellers the ability to pick & pack orders using a barcode scanner.
Integrate Authorize.net, Amazon Pay and PayPal Express
Needing a way to increase conversion, at checkout we integrated Authorize.net, Amazon Pay, and Paypal Express into AnimationShops. The integration of these payment gateways increased trust in the AnimationShops e-commerce store as well as increase conversions on the website. Our system is able to show all actions of the payment gateway (authorization, capture, sale, refund, and void) on one integrated platform.
THE RESULT
Since working with Idevelopersquare, AnimationShops has increased growth in revenue by 30% year on year. The conversion has improved considerably, as has visibility in search engines.
